Abstract (EN)
The research has been done descriptively to view the effect of nurses? professionalism behaviours on job satisfaction.The research, within the boundaries of metropolitan municipality Ankara, was done in all of the units of three different hospitals depending on the ministry of health, private corporation and university where the nurses took charge in. The nurses who at least got associate degree were incorporated into the research and it was studied on 531 nurses.Data was gathered under three titles `personal informations? `behavioral inventory concerning professionalism in nursing? `Minnesota Satisfaction Questionary?. The nurses who accepted to take part in the research were handed out data collection form and they filled them out under the reseacher supervision.Data collection form has four parts. In the first part 9 questions covering the descriptive characteristics of the nurses, in the second one 39 questions about professionalism, in the third section 20 questions related to job satisfaction and in the final part 4 questions about the opinions of nurses related to professionalism and job satisfaction, in total 72 questions were prepared.Encoding and evaluation procedure were carried out through SPSS 18.0 program. In the evaluation of data, `one way anova, chi-square test, Turkey?s and LSD Post Hoc tests, correlation analysis, regression analysis, number, percentage ,frequency and average SD calculations were used.According to the answers of the nurses to the questions in the research, it was determined that the nurses generally achieved job satisfaction at medium level (private corporation =3.400±0.696; university =3.130±0.659; ministry of health =2.770±0.682), that the nurses working for private hospital got the highest professionalism average ( = 8.410±3.213), that there was a positive correlation between the professionalism and job satisfaction and this correlation was meaningful(r=0.299; p= 0.000).Suggestions have been made in the direction of results in the research.
