Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to contribute the solidarity of the colleagues of the socio-demographic characteristics of the nurses and the organizational culture. This descriptive study was conducted between December 2016 and December 2017 on 343 nurses who worked for at least one year in four hospitals within the Istanbul provincial borders and who agreed to participate in the survey. A questionnaire consisting of three parts; "Sociodemographic Questionnaire", "Denison Organizational Culture Scale" and "Colleague Solidarity Scale in Nurses" are used as data collection tools. In the data analysis, descriptive analyzes, independent t test (Tukey HSD for advanced analysis), Kruskal Wallis test (Mann Whitney U test with Bonferroni correction for advanced analysis) and Pearson correlation analysis were used. It was determined that the nurses had a good level of colleague solidarity (97.01 ± 12.78) and the highest scores were emotional (38.93 ± 5.52) and academic solidarity (37.83 ± 5.52) subscales. Organizational culture levels were found to be at the level of participation subscale with the highest score of average and subscales. No statistically significant difference was found between the nurse's colleague score and gender and the type of family they grew up (p>05). A statistically significant difference was observed with age, educational status, marital status, child ownership, institutional work, personel status, duration of professional study, duration of study, duration of unit, unit work, institutional position, working style, weekly working hours. Providing collaborative solidarity among nurses positively affects patient results. Therefore, it shall be useful for executive nurses to adopt organizational cultural practices that support their collegial cooperation and to develop methods to support colleague-support behaviors among the nurses.
