Abstract (EN)
INTRODUCTION AND AIM: Nurses' spiritual nursing perceptions and practices affect patients' getting full and quality care. Accordingly, the present study was planned to identify the factors that affect nurses' spiritual care and to examine these within a model. INSTRUMENTS AND METHODOLOGY: The study was conducted as a descriptive and correlational design. A diagnostic form, "Spiritual Care", "Compassion Fatigue", "Minesota Job Satisfaction" and "Beck Anxiety" scales were used to collect data. The sample was completed with a total of 265 nurses working at two different medical institutions in Hatay. The data were analyzed through IBM SPSS Statistics 23 package program, comparison analyzes, structural equation modelling, path analysis, one-way ANOVA, independent samples t-test, Hotelling T-tests were used in line. FINDINGS: 60.8 % percent of the participants were female, 52.1% were married, 90.6% were Bachelor's degree holders and 23.0 % were working in the emergency service. The mean age was 31.89 ±6.77. The mean scores for the SCS, MJSS BAS and CFS were 141.03±28.36, 62.28±17.53, 30.89±9.52 and 1.94±0.36, respectively. There was a statistically significant relationship between age and years of experience and CFS and MJSS (p<0.05). Nurses' spirituality and spiritiual care practice characteristics affect SCS, CFS and MJSS. There was a statistically significant relationship between SCS, CFS and MJSS (p<0.05). In accordance with the structural equation modelling, giving value to others has a negative statistical significance on SCS whereas CFS (on the sub-dimensions of value consciousness and self-value) and MJSS had a positive statistical significance on SCS (p<0,05). There was no statistically significant relationship between SCS and BAS (p>0,05). RESULT: Whereas job satisfaction and compassion fatigue affect nurses' spiritual care presentation, level of anxiety does not affect it. There is a close relationship between nurses spirituality and spiritual care practices and their job satifsfaction and compassion fatigue.
