Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY The research was applied and planed as descriptive and half experimental with purpose of that patients measurement of vital signs by using basic standards to determine the true evaluation of vital signs by improving basic standards, so decrease work density of nurses and promoting the quality of nurse serves. The research was implemented in medical departments of Celal Bayar University Hospital. Universe and sample' of the study have occurred by nurses (n=30) studying in internal diseases department of Celal Bayar University Hospital to 15 October and 15 April 2003. The data was collected by questionnaire and scale presents of vital sign measurement standards, which was prepared by researcher. The data was evaluated on computer with SPSS 10.0 for windows packet program. Mann Whitney U, Kruskal - Wallis, Independent- Samples T test, Number- Percent distributions and Multiple Linear Regression tests were used for statistically analyses. It was determined that nurses usually have never apply some standards while measuring the vital signs. It was observed that the nurses do true measurement related to have their information.
