The mediating role of emotional expression and self-esteem in the relationship between social problem solving and psychological well-being of nursing students

In this study, it is intended to examine the mediat role of expression of emotion and self-esteem in the relationship between social problem solving and psychological well-being of nursing students.The universe of the research was studied at Aydin Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Nursing 1. 2. 3. ve 4. students of the class. A total of 476 volunteers who were trained in the Faculty of Nursing made up the research sample. Personal Information Form, Social Problem Solving Scale, Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, Emotional Expression Scale and Psychological Well-Being Scale were used in the collection of data. SPSS-25.0 package program was used in the analysis of research data.In the analysis, decomposition statistics, sample t test, correlation coefficient and regression analysis tests were applied through Proccess analysis method. As a result of the correlation analysis of the model created to test whether emotion expression and self-respect have an intermediary role in the effect of social problem solving on psychological well-being, it was found that social problem solving has a significant effect on psychological well-being. That social problem solving has a direct effect on emotion expression, that expression of emotion has a direct effect on psychological well-being, that there is a significant negative relationship between emotion expression and self-respect; it has been found that social problem solving has no meaningful effect on self-respect and self-respect has no meaningful effect on psychological well-being. It has been found that the role of emotion expression tool is partially effective in the effect of social problem solving on psychological well-being, and that social problem solving has no role as a self-respect tool in the effect on psychological well-being.
