Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study was to develop a valid and reliable tool that can be used to evaluate the burnout levels of nurses and to determine the relationship between the burnout levels of nurses and their psychological comfort. The study was designed as a methodological and correlational research. It was conducted in two stages. The aim of this programmed first stage is to disseminate the Nursing Worker Obsolescence Scale to be used in determining the ranking of the Officials' employee obsolescence and to start psychometric analyses. The second stage is to try to determine the relationship between the employee obsolescence and psychological comfort in nurses. The universe of the training stage in the methodological design consists of 1800 Officials working in 3 hospitals in Istanbul, including public, private and university hospitals, and the universe of the second stage consists of 920 Clinics working in two public hospitals. The sample of the study consisted of 525 nurses working in the designated hospitals who were reached through random sampling method, and the sample of the second stage consisted of 281 volunteer nurses. Data of the first stage were collected between July 2022 and October 2022 using the Personal and Professional Characteristics Information Form, the Nursing Worker Scale Draft and the equivalent form, the Burnout Scale Short Version. The second phase was carried out between July 2024 and October 2024 using the Nursing Worker Obsolescence Scale and the Psychological Comfort Scale. In the analysis of the data, IBM SPSS 28 and R programming language were used with a 95% confidence interval. The validity of the scale was managed with scope, surface and construct validity, and its reliability was based on Item-total distribution, Cronbach Alpha, split-half, test-retest, equivalent form methods. The valid index of the total study scope was found to be 0.97. The construct validity of the scale was studied in two separate homogeneous systems with unequal numbers of Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Before Exploratory Factor Analysis, 1 item with an item-total score value less than 0.5 was removed from the draft size. The composition of the KMO composition of the scale was determined as 0.966 and Bartlett's Test χ2=9266.351 (p<0.000). The scale with a total variance rate of 66.07% was determined as 38 items and 3 factors; obsolescence centered on management policies, obsolescence centered on personality expectations and obsolescence centered on work duties. Factor compatibility was confirmed with Confirmatory Factor Analysis. İt was determined that the model was compatible with Linux. The Cronbach Alpha value for the reliability of the scale was examined for all factors. The total Cronbach Alpha amount for the reliability of the scale was calculated as 0.966, and for its sub-dimensions it was calculated as 0.915-0.963. The Spearman-Brown and Guttman Split-Half reliability coefficients were 0.993; the parallel form transitions (r=0.230, p=0.000) and the test-retest analysis (r=0.900, p=0.000) were significantly different. The Nursing Worker Obsolescence Scale is a 5-point Likert-type file scale consisting of 3 dimensions and a total of 38 items. As a result, with this research list, the scale can be used to determine the obsolescence levels of the Officials as a valid and reliable measurement tool. The second phase of the study was applied in a descriptive and relationship-seeking manner to determine the relationship between the obsolescence levels of nurses and psychological comfort using the Nursing Worker Obsolescence Scale. Significant relationships were found between the sub-dimensions. In line with the results, it can be suggested that new research should be conducted to determine the obsolescence levels of nurses, and that initiative should be taken into consideration for the correct and effective use of human resources and professional obsolescence levels.
