Abstract (EN)
Aim: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between specialization in nursing and professional commitment. Method: The population of the descriptive study consisted of 238 nurses working in Düzce University Health Practice and Research Center. No sample selection was made in the study, and all nurses who volunteered to participate were included in the study. In the study, "G. Power-3.1.9.2" program was used and calculated at 95% confidence level. The data of the study were collected using the Personal Information Form, Attitude Towards Specialization in Nursing Scale and Nursing Professional Commitment Scale. The data were collected between March 18, 2024 and May 31, 2024. In the analysis of the data, number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median from descriptive statistics; t-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance for variables that meet parametric test assumptions; Mann Whitney-U test, Kruskall Wallis H test from non-parametric tests; Correlation analysis and Structural Equation Modeling were used to test the relationships between variables. Descriptive statistics of all data in the study were calculated. 76.5% of the participants were women and 23.5% were men, and no significant difference was found between genders in terms of professional commitment. It was determined that the attitude towards specialization in nursing scale score showed a significant difference between the educational levels (p<0.001). While it was found that there was no significant difference between the clinics worked in (p=0.222) and years of working experience (p=0.146) in terms of the attitude scale score towards specialization in nursing, there was a difference between the status of choosing the profession willingly (p=0.863). As a result of the study, it was seen that there was a significant relationship between specialization in nursing and professional commitment in the same direction. Keywords: Nursing, Specialization in Nursing, Professional Commitment.
