Abstract (EN)
This paper studies the cello techniques used by Henri Dutilleux (1916-2013) in his work Trois Strophes sur le nom de Sacher (1976 Revised 1982). The first section provides historical context, and gives basic biographical details regarding his life and work. The second section discusses Dutilleux's contribution to the series "12 Hommages à Paul Sacher" in which different composers used various permutations of the letters from Sacher's name as musical materials. The third section is a detailed analysis of the performance techniques used in this solo cello work. Although detailed research has been published regarding the compositional and aesthetical aspects of the work, this is the first analysis on a graduate level of the performance techniques for cello. The main aim of this study is to provide a reference for those interested in this subject in Turkish.
