Hentbolcularda müsabaka öncesi ve sonrasi bazi biyokimyasal değişikliklerin araştirilmasi

The Purpose of this study was the effect of competition on some selected biochemical parameters of Handball Players.20 men and 20 women sportsmen, who played in handball leagues during the 2007-2008 season, were voluntarily participated in this study. Sportsmen?s blood samples were taken twice (before and after competition) by expert at the Dumlupinar University Sport Hall.Sportsmen?s age, height, weight and training age were taken for determining anthropometric characteristics. As biochemical measurements, sportsmen?s creatin kinase (CK), creatin kinase myocardial band (CK-MB), lactic acid (LA), blood sugar (glucose), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalaz (CAT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanin transterase (ALT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and malondialdehyt (MDA) were evaluateded.As a statistical method, ANOVA (repeated measure) and t-test at ? = 0.5 level of significance were used.Results of biochemical measurement showed that, creatin kinase (CK), lactic acid (LA), blood sugar (glucose), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalaz (CAT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanin transterase (ALT) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) parameters were increased significantly (P<0.01). However there was not any significant difference found between creatin kinase myocardial band (CK-MB) and malondialdehyt (MDA) parameters (P>0.05).Result of this research showed that competition had considerable effect on biochemical parameters.Keywords: Handball, biochemical parameters.
