Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to specify the effect of strength training on free throws and examine the relationship between the chute speed and the chute hit rate. The participants of this study are the 16 male handball players who contend in the handball premier league and plays in handball team of Adapazarı Municipality. The participant handballers are divided into two groups as the experimental and control groups. Experimental group is applied a strenth training with flexi-bar three times a week and 30 minutes a day. The players in the control group went on their regular handball trainings. Wilcoxon, Mann Whitney U and Spearman Correlation Tests are used in the packet program SPSS 15.0 for Windows are used for analyzing the statistical data obtained in the study. At the end of the study, it was determined that there isn't a meaninful change statistically observable in the grasp strength and 7 m shot perfromance of the players in the experimental group (p>0.05). Similarly, netiher is there a meaningful change observable in the grasp strength and 7 m shot perfromance of the players in the control group (p>0.05). On the other hand, it was also determined that there is a statisticaly meaningful decline in the chute throw of both the experimental and the control group players (p<0.05). Key Words: Handball, Flexi-Bar, Chute Speed, Chute Hit Rate
