Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the usefulness of platelet (PLT) and its derivatives, platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), plateletcrit (PCT) as a marker in the path of compensation to decompensation in patients with cirrhosis due to hepatitis B virus (HBV). Materials and Methods: 131 patients with clinical and laboratory diagnosis of cirrhosis due to HBV in the Gastroenterology Clinic of İnönü University Turgut Özal Medical Center between January 2010 and 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. Of the 131 patients included in the study, 44 were compensated cirrhosis and 87 were decompensated cirrhosis. Results: 131 patients with cirrhosis due to HBV were compensated and decompensated according to acid, variceal bleeding, coma, icter status and Child-Pugh score. The parameters that could indicate the course of decompensation were examined. When the PLT, MPV, PDW, PCT values were examined in the compensated and decompensated groups, no significant difference was found (p> 0.05). Conclusion: PLT, MPV, PCT, PDW, which may guide us as a laboratory other than a complication such as ascites, varicose veins, hepatic encephalopathy and icter in the course of decompensation, further studies are needed in this regard.
