Abstract (EN)

Demographic Data and Retrospective Evaluation of Clinical Features in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma Introduction: A retrospective evaluation of the clinical features and demographic data of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma was performed. Materials and methods: We retrospectively evaluated 202 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who applied to the Inonu University Medical Faculty Turgut Ozal Medical Center Medical Oncology Department outpatient clinic between 01.01.2009-31.12.2019. Patients' age, gender, date of diagnosis, complaint at the time of admission, duration of current complaint, presence of chronic liver disease, history of alcohol and cigarette consumption, ECOG, presence of ascites, presence of encephalopathy, method of diagnosis, histological subtype, number of tumor foci/focuses, size of tumor, presence of portal vein invasion, metastasis, TNM stage, hepatic virus ELISA panel, AFP, AST, ALT, platelet, neutrophil, lymphocyte, bilirubin, albumin, INR, LDH values, Child Pugh score, etiological cause and treatment methods received by the patient were evaluated. The effects of these parameters on the overall survival of patients were investigated. Results: The relationship of overall survival with the patients' ECOG score (p = 0.019), presence of encephalopathy, tumor focus (p=0.003), tumor size (p=0.002), portal vein invasion (p <0.001), presence of metastasis (p <0.001), TNM stage and (p <0.001), AFP (p <0.001), AST (p=0.003), platelet (p=0.006), bilirubin (p=0.045), LDH value (p=0.003), Child Pugh score (p=0.001) and the treatments they received (p=0.009) were found to be statistically significant. On the other hand, the relationship of overall survival with age, gender, presence of chronic liver disease, history of alcohol and cigarette usage, presence of ascites, histological subtype, presence of hepatitis, ALT levels, NLR, albumin, and INR parameters was found to be statistically insignificant. Conclusions: In the present study, patients' ECOG score, presence of encephalopathy, tumor focus, tumor size, portal vein invasion, presence of metastasis, TNM stage, AFP, AST, platelet, bilirubin, LDH values, Child Pugh score and the treatments they received were found to be statistically significantly related to overall survival.
