Abstract (EN)

The tradition of minstrelsy has been existed within verbal and written cultural media for many centuries within the historical and literary processes of Turks and become a tradition. Minstrels (Âşıks) have become the translators of the feelings of the people in a vast geography for ages with their words and instruments, have told what people could not express, become the leaders of the community in some cases, and sometimes they have become heroes of the society. One of the most significant representatives of this tradition in the twentieth century is Âşık Müdâmî, who is the theme of our thesis, descending from the Master Âşık Üzeyir Fakirî and putting too much labour in training so many minstrels and transferring this tradition to the coming generations. The name of our thesis is ?Âşık Sabit Müdâmî, with All his Aspects?. Müdâmî was studied with all his traits.Besides being a minstrel, Müdâmî was a classifier and story teller in the community, a religious man who could even write a book of religious principles, a public doctor who could cure people in a manner of Luqman and a leader of community asked for solution in helpless situations. Müdâmî is an unprecedented prolific minstrel of his era and the age after him with his profound knowledge and experience. Moreover, he became a sample for his contemporaries by writing what he heard, thought, told and his call-and-response duets. Müdâmî, to us, is a minstrel regarded as the Dada Qorqud of 20th and the current century.Keywords:1.Minstrelsy,2.Âşık Müdâmî,3.Folk Literature,4.Folk Story-Telling,5.Folk Medicine,6.Posof
