Özet (EN)
In this study; thermal image and signature of any object or target which have any temperature and from any distance has been analysed by taking into account atmospheric effects.At the present time, the most important problem related to atmospheric modelling and infrared signature calculation applications in the defence industry is out of reach problem for studies because of secrecy. In spite of availability of some atmospheric modelling and IR signature calculation softwares, it is not possible to access source codes for those softwares. Many countries and companies just provide limited access to those softwares.By using atmospheric parameters which are belong to day of thermal image measurement, atmospheric transmission coefficient was calculated. Infrared signature was calculated for the image at the reference point. By taking into account transmission coefficient and reference point infrared signature value, for any distance and any angle infrared signature was calculated. For same distance infrared signature was calculated and compared with the result obtained from our model. The results show that our model has a significant accuracy (>85%)An additional model has developed to calculate target size from its thermal image. Obtained results show that this model has a good accuracy.In Turkish defence industry for these subjects, dependency is very high. It is thought that this doctorate study will be an important basis especially point of IR signature calculation. In the future by developing this study, assuring infrastructure and manpower; it is aimed to decrease foreign dependency and calculate IR signature with national works.
