Abstract (EN)
Throughout history woman had always been met different charges by societies. In some societies, as being accepted as equivalent to nature she was the recipient of glory, while in other societies she was discussed whether she belonged to humankind or not. Hesse, who had difficulties to adapt himself to social orders, had different point of view to woman from society's standards. Hesse took woman in hand with her universal existence and saw her as the most important key to achieve to unity of existence. To sum up in general, for Hermann Hesse the interest to other sex is a natural phenomenon and it is generally impossible to avoid this reality. As a matter of fact, the heroes of his novels see this interest as an element of crime in the first and they apply to so many ways in order to avoid their instinct but in the end they are defeated and they find themselves capitulated more than anyone else to situations which they wished to be far and from which they struggled to protect themselves. In fact the barrier which they see as the biggest one is the only way to achieve to self realisation. For Hesse, woman who is thought to be a barrier and means of sin by the society, is an important agent who trains man the life and himself. In this context woman gains importance in Hesse, as a matter of fact in his novels prostitutes are glorified who are accepted as the most banal in society. In this research the form of how the protagonists perceived woman, the effects of woman on protagonists, her contributions on protagonists' personal development thus Hermann Hesse's vision of woman are observed in Hermann Hesse's novels( Siddhartha, Narziss and Goldmund, Desert Wolf, Bead Play, Peter Camenzid, Gertrud Rosshalde, Demian, A Visitor In Hot Spring).
