Heteropoly acid incorporated MCM-41 and MCM-48 type catalysts

Abstract (EN)

In the content of this study, MCM-41 and MCM-48 type mesoporous support materials were synthesized by three different methods, namely, Hydrothermal Synthesis (HTS), Room Temperature Synthesis (RTS) and MicroWave Synthesis (MWS) methods and tungstophosphoric acid (TPA) in the range of 10-40 wt% was incorporated into the as-synthesized materials by the wet impregnation method in methanol solutions. All produced catalysts were characterized by the XRD, BET, SEM and EDS methods and the effects of the different synthesis methods on the physical properties of catalysts were determined by investigating the characterization results.In this study, the MCM-41 catalysts produced by RTS and MWS methods and the MCM-48 catalysts produced by the MWS method were found to have regular crystalline structures, high BET surface areas, narrow pore size distributions in the mesopore range and high BJH pore volumes. In addition, for these catalysts, it was seen that acid incorporation did not decrease the average pore sizes, thus these catalysts are expected to be more successful in catalytic applications.Keywords: MCM-41, MCM-48, Heteropoly Acid, Hydrothermal Synthesis, Room Temperature Synthesis, Microwave Synthesis
