Abstract (EN)

Clothing, which has been a part of human life from past to present, has come into existence as a creative phenomenon that we have developed against the restrictive attitude of nature. In this respect, clothing was accepted as the first works of art. It is thought that the costumes, masks, jewelery and similar things worn during various purposes in primitive periods evoke a statue. The relation of clothing to sculpture has existed in almost every period of history. He sometimes gave information about the people and periods that were sculpted on the sculpture; sometimes it was only used to strengthen the plastic value of the sculpture. Later, in the direction of changing disciplines began to get rid of the traditional boundaries of the sculpture; clothing definitions have also started to differentiate. Sculpture became wearable as a result of artists' innovative understanding and interdisciplinary interaction after the 1960s. In this study, the place of clothing and dress in sculpture art was investigated and the definition of wearable sculpture is tried to be reached with changing expression styles. Also, the definition of clothing and dictionary search were included and the reasons that reveal the clothing were questioned. Clothing is conceptually evaluated and its relation with body, space and art is mentioned. Clothing is researched from a historical perspective and on the other side, the relation of clothing, fashion and wearable technology products with art was questioned. Historical transformation of clothing in sculpture art was examined; artists and works of art that are thought to prepare the ground for wearability are mentioned. The ways in which clothing intersected in the context of its relationship with sculpture were investigated and the definition of "wearable sculpture" is approached. Artists and works of art that will present different perspectives on clothing in art have been reviewed and examined.
