Abstract (EN)

Lead may be entered into an aquatic ambient by an environmental pollution and will may be accumulate in different tissues of tilapia in a certain time and dose. This study aimed that lead bioaccumulation on different tissues of tilapia with regard to histopathology and determining effects of ascorbic acid which added into the water medium in order to reduce of negative effects of lead. Accumulated lead levels and histopathological changes of gill, liver, intestine, gonad and muscle tissues of hybrid tilapias (Oreochromis niloticus x Oreochromis aureus) which exposed to mediums containing lead ( 10 mg/l Pb2+) and lead + ascorbic acid (10 mg/l Pb2+ + 10 mg/l ascorbic acid) identified by sampling tissues on 14th and 28th days of experiment. It was found that the lead accumulation levels of tissues exhibit differences depending on time and type of tissues (intestine > gill > liver > gonad > muscle). It was detected that lead accumulation levels and velocities of tissues of fishes in mediums containing lead + ascorbic acid are lower and slower than in mediums containing only lead. On the contrary of gonad and muscle tissues, there many pathlogical finding in gills due to lead accumulation; epithelial lifting, hyperplasia, aneurism, lamellar fusion, oedema, in liver; degenerative nucleus, vacuolar degeneration, piknotic nucleus, karyorrhektic nucleus, necrosis and in intestine; increase in number of EGC was detected and it was found that existance of ascorbic acid in mediums reduce and retard the cellular damages.
