Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, five new metal complexes ([Co(hibmbH)2], [Ni(hibmbH2)2]·2NO3·2H2O, [Cu2(hibmb)2], [Pd(hibmbH)2] and [UO2(hibmbH)2]) were synthesized from the N'-3- (hydroxyimino)butane-2-ylidene)-3-methylbutanhydrazide (hibmbH2) ligand obtained from the reaction of 3-methylbutanhydrazide and diacetyl monoxime. The structure of ligand hibmbH2 was elucidated by elemental analysis, ESI-MS, NMR, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. The structures of the complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurement, ESI-MS, NMR, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. The thermal behavior of the complexes was investigated by thermal analysis techniques. Single crystals of ligand, [Co(hibmbH)2] and [Ni(hibmbH2)2]·2NO3·2H2O metal complexes were obtained and their structures were elucidated by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. It was determined that Co(II), Ni(II), Pd(II) and UO2(VI) complexes were monomeric and Cu(II) complex was dimeric structure. With XRD results, it was determined that Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes are in octahedral structure and Ni(II) complex, in which nitrate ions are present as complementary ions, is an ionic complex. A square plane for [Cu2(hibmb)2] and [Pd(hibmbH)2] complexes, an eight-coordinate structure for [UO2(hibmbH)2] was proposed. Antimicrobial, antibiofilm, antioxidant and DNA cleavage studies were performed to examine the biological properties of the compounds. Metal complexes were found to be more effective than ligand.
