Abstract (EN)

Language and civilization are the identity of nations. People living in different countries, whose native languages are different get the opportunity to learn about various cultures and civilizations via translation. India has very significant effects on the world civilizations and history, not only by hosting people from various religions and its different geography, but also with its rich culture and civilization and being spoken many different languages on its land. In our developing world "translation" is defined as an act of intercultural mediation. Moreover one of the best methods to introduce the culture, civilization, and language of India is undoubtedly translation method. In our study, two stories named "Eidgaah (Place of Eid Praying)" and "Thakur Ka Kuan (Thakur's Well)" written by Munshi Premchand and addressing traditional subjects of India were translated from Hindi to Turkish by interpretive translation theory. As the third story of our study, "Himmet Child" story of Halide Edip Adıvar, who lived recently with Munshi Premchand and faced the same poverty, distress; economic and political problems in terms of living standards, was translated from Turkish into Hindi by interpretive translation theory. In the first story, feast traditions of a village and the life of Muslims living in the rural area are told unostentatiously. In the second story, the real life stories of those who were not able to reach water due to the caste system, which existed in India at the time the story was written whose traces are actually found even though legally abolished today are reflected. The subject of the story, which we translated from Turkish into Hindi, is the difficulties experienced by the Anatolian people during the period the War of Independence. In further chapters of our study the translation problems, encountered in this study were discussed with examples in items and case studies were analyzed by evaluating their solution suggestions getting from the translators. Moreover, in our study the sentence structures of Hindi and Turkish were compared and discussed organizing the sentence structures of the two language in regards to the literary language.
