Abstract (EN)
The brain damage caused by the prenatal asphyxia is the most significant ground of the neurologic sequels in babies both premature and late parturition. The hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy is very significant as it causes a permanent damage in central nervous system, deaths of newborn and the static encephalopathy and mental deficiency in previous periods. The early diagnosis is vital in order to be intercepted these anomalies of the permanent neurologic development.The protein S100B is the major component of many cells as well as it can be found intensivelly especially in astrocyte and Schwann cells. There is the enzyme of creatinine kinase in brain and muscle tissue and the isoenzyme of CK-BB in neurons and astrocytes. The troponins provide the communication between the sub-units of actin during the every muscle contractions.The observation should be done by determining the relation between the results of electroencephalogram getting in the early period and magnetic resonance visualization of hypoxic ischemic patients, and the permanent damage which may come into being in the future.In this study, it is aimed to determine the biochemical values that can be used for the early diagnosis of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and the inquiry of the significance level for the conformation of those neurological results which come out in the late-period.For this study, it is taken 30 patients from the units of newborn intensive care who have hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy diagnosis and a control group with 20 healthy newborn. It is taken serum exemplars at second and 72nd hours, in the first week ultrasonography and electroencephalography are taken and it?s applied the magnetic resonance visualization to our patients who needed to long-run observation. It is realized that the level of the serum protein S100B and CKBB in patients who have the hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy diagnosis are significantly higher than the control group. It has been seen that the asphyxia slowed down as well as the level of serum of protein S100B and CKBB increased. Besides this, it is observed that the transphontanel USG and EEG that is taken in the first week could lead us for the prognosis.All of these results showed that several serum parameters can be used, however EEG and USG would enlighten better for anticipating the long run effects of HIE.Key Words : Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, protein S100B, CK-BB, trophonin, EEG, MRI, newborn.
