Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study was to translate the Underactive Thyroid-Dependent Quality of Life Questionnaire (ThyDQoL) into Turkish (ThyDQol-TR), and subsequently test its validity and reliability in patients with hypothyroidism. In all, 90 hypothyroid patients that presented to Celal Bayar University, School of Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism Clinicvoluntarily enrolled in the study. The patients were administered the ThyDQol-TR. Statistical analysis was used to determine the distribution characteristics, and the validity and reliability of ThyDQol-TR. The scale?s structural validity and internal coherence were observed to be high and ingood compliance with the original scale; no potential problematic questions were identified. Criterion validity analysis showed that the scale?s correlation between disease-specific health questions and scale score was change-sensitive following appropriate examinations .Based on the present findings, we think that ThyDQoL-TR can be used in clinical trials to measure quality of life in hypothyroid patients in Turkey.
