Abstract (EN)
Anatolian lands which have hosted different cultures throughout history, carry a justified pride in the meaning of the Ancient Greek word ἀνατολή (Anatoli), which means the place where the sun rises. Anatolia, which is at the center of cultural and religious culture routes, has played an important role in the development of many civilizations. Some cultural values that are closely related to modern Anatolian traditions can be verified with Hittite written documents and depicted works that have survived since the 2nd millennium BC, without changing and assimilating, on the contrary, by enriching them. The Hittites, who saw themselves as the successors of the Hattians and defined their country as the Hatti Country and their language as Kenişumni/Neşumni "Kaneş - Neşa" in written texts, established settlements in different parts of Anatolia and became a great empire. This thesis aims to make an evaluation about the effects and similarities of the elements specific to the Hittite culture by using archaeological and philological data. In the study, brief Hittite, Anatolian history, and Hittite culture-specific phenomena are discussed in cuneiform tablets and illustrated works of art. It has also been compiled, the continual analogies and influences between societies from past to present. To show these similarities and effects, folkloric studies that can reveal today's traditions were also used. Key Wors: Hittite, Anatolia, religion, magic, fortune telling, marriage, worship, sacrifice, faith, traditions, customs, similarity.
