Abstract (EN)

Today, mobile devices are among the tools that facilitate life in many respects. Tendency towards and expectations from these devices have increased in parallel to their increasing functional properties. Also, the use of mobile devices for the training of employees resulted in the emergence of different training methods in business life. One of these training methods is "mobile learning". Mobile learning may be defined as the realization of e-learning training through mobile devices without any time and space restrictions. Main aim of these training methods is regarded as making contribution to traditional training mechanisms while at the same time developing new alternative learning methods. Main purpose of this study is to find out employees? opinions on mobile learning practices and contexts. Accordingly, believing that e-learning is a transitional phase for mobile learning, the concepts of on-the-job training and e-learning are explained firstly. Afterwards, definition, advantages and disadvantages of mobile learning are put forth. In the following sections, brief information is provided on mobile learning tools, and mobile learning practices both from Turkey and the world are stated. In the last section of the study, a research on the issues discussed is put forth. This research has been carried out with a GSM operator located Istanbul through in-depth interview. vi Basing on the findings of the research, it is observed that mobile learning methods largely have positive impacts on employees. Study ends with concluding remarks and future recommendations on areas that need further research and practical inquiry. Keywords: E-Learning, Mobile Learning, Job Training
