Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the in-service training activities which conducted in public and private sectors, on the performance of the institution and the performance of the staff by using meta-analytic effect method. The effects of in-service training activities on performance one evaluated. The comparison between the current situation and the changes after training was examined. This study covers 210 master's and PhD theses, journals and articles which include the findings about the effects of in-service training on performance between the years of 1990 and 2016. Among all manuscripts, 52 theses that are appropriate to the coding protocol included in the meta-analysis study. Among those manuscripts 20 theses and journals covering the perceptions of 9533 staff included in the meta-analytic effect size analysis. These manuscripts have the data for calculating the effect size of the in-service training. The results of the study demonstrate that in-service training has a positive effect on performance and according to the Cohen's classification, in-service training indicates strong and important effect. However on the basis of theses, it was determined that in-service training has weak effect size in some subjects and has average effect size in other subjects. Moreover, the number of items used in the studies make no difference on the effect size. The moderating effect of the gender was examined and the results indicate that it makes no significant difference on effect size. According to the results, some suggestions were offered to practitioners and researchers. Keywords: In-service Education, Employee Performance, Meta-Analysis.
