Statistical analysis of the water quality parameters of Aliaga and Bedre streams feeding the Hocaköy dam

The Hocaköy Dam, the construction of which began in 2015, was established for the purpose of supplying drinking water. Jul. Aliağa and Bedre Creek, which are the main tributaries feeding the dam, are one of the important water sources. The water quality of the streams is monitored by the BUSKI General Directorate and the DSI. In order to evaluate the water quality, statistical analysis programs were applied to the water quality data from a single point where the water supply quality for 2019-2020 and 2021 was examined in order to evaluate the water quality and water quality classes were determined. In the study, Basic Component Analysis and Factor Analysis were used to evaluate the water quality. In the thesis study where the suitability of the data for the analyses was examined, statistical analyses were applied on 9 parameters to Bedre Creek and 12 parameters to Aliaga Creek. In the Basic Component Analysis, the parameters that best express the water quality of the streams are CI-, NO3-, Se, Conductivity, SO4-2, Cr and Pb parameters in the first group. The parameters represented the quality of the water supply by 35,974% and 39,554%. In the Factor Analysis, factors with eigenvalues greater than 1 were determined. The first 3 factors were considered suitable for Bedre Creek and the first 4 factors were considered suitable for Aliaga Creek. The total variance of the first 3 factors was found to be 77.861%, and the total variance of the first 4 factors was found to be 87.633%. The average annual analysis values of the samples were based on the Water Pollution Control Regulation and the Regulation on the Quality and Purification of Drinking Water Supplied Water. When the parameters are evaluated; Bedre Creek is IV in terms of Copper and Cyanide. class III in terms of Mercury, Fecal Coliform and Iron. the class is of good quality. Aliaga Creek is rich in fecal Coliform and Iron. the grade was found to be of good quality. Turbidity, Copper, Manganese, Fecal and Total Coliform in Bedre Creek are in the A2 category, Cyanide and Iron are in the A3 category; Turbidity in Aliaga Creek is in the A3 category in terms of Manganese, Fecal and Total Coliform and Iron.
