Abstract (EN)
While the labor agreement leaves 60 years behind, labor migration and the changing dynamics related to it still attract the attention of researchers. Generations with a migration background who were born and raised in the host country also have an important place in migration studies. In this study, it is examined that the role of Turkish non-governmental organizations in the cultural transfer and integration processes of Turkish youths born and raised in the Netherlands. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 30 Turkish youths from Turkish non-governmental organizations in the Netherlands. According to the results of study, it is observed that Turkish non-governmental organizations affect the cultural transmission and integration processes of Turkish youths as transnational social capital actors. It is found that NGOs develop transnational relations by way of their activities. The fact that non-governmental organizations establish transnational relations shows that they try to exist in Dutch society while maintaining Turkish culture. It also shows that they are open to integration into Dutch society and they strive for it. On the other hand, the fact that Turkish youths participate in the activities of Turkish non-governmental organizations that establish transnational relations shows that they also adopt transnational relations and ties of belonging (for host country and country of origin). In this context, it is observed that the attendants formed their identities through the synthesis of Dutch and Turkish culture. In addition to these, it is determined that Turkish youths express themselves with transnational definitions.
