Abstract (EN)
Investigation of Mutations in HH5 and STAT3 Genes Associated with Embryonic Death in Holstein Cattle In this study, 70 samples of Holstein cattle breeds in the laboratory of Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Medical Biology and Genetics were studied. In the study, mutations in the HH5 and STAT3 genes associated with embryonic survival were tried to be detected. Studies have found that the HH5 is caused by a 138 base pair long deletion. Activation of the STAT3 gene plays an important role in embryonic lifespan. In this study, the frequencies of heterozygosity in the mutation related to these genes were analyzed. Since these two genes are known to affect the embryonic life process in cattle, a longer and more comprehensive study is needed to examine these genes more comprehensively and to detect mutations. Due to the limited number of studies on these genes, documents to compare our findings could not be found. More studies are required for the Holstein cattle breed to have a healthy fertility Keywords: Holstein Cattle, STAT3, HH5, Mutation, Delestion, Embriyonic Survival
