Thesis) ÜLKÜ (DİNLEMEZ) ATEŞ GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY January 2004 ABSTRACT In this work, the far field pattern for the acoustic scattering waves in the non- homogeneous medium is studied.Both the eigenvalue for the far field operator and the identity operator for the scattering operator are investigated.The inverse scattering problem is studied.Also it is investigated the relationship between the injective of far field operator and interior transmission problem.
