Abstract (EN)
This thesis is dedicated to the rescue of archaeological artifacts belonging to the Höyüktepe settlement in The Village of Kureyş in Kütahya province, Aslanapa district and the other Necropolis that are located with it, the State Water Works (DSI) Eskişehir 3 third region In May 2014, the excavations carried out by Kütahya museum directorate, because the Kureyş Dam, which was built by the Regional Directorate, would be flooded. This thesis aimed to examine the bone materials obtained as a result of these studies and to provide information about the nutritional economies and fauna of the settlement. As a result of excavations conducted between 2014 and 2016, archaeological artifacts from the Early Bronze Age, Middle Bronze Age and Late Eastern Roman periods were identified. A total of more than 3,000 animal bones have been recovered from faunal remains. the total weight of the bones examined is 59,317 kg. In total, 1086 types of bones were identified. The analysis shows us that sheep/goats, pigs and cattle are dominant in Höyüktepe settlement. It has been understood as a result of research estimating that the nutritional economy is focused on domestic animals. Hunting activities are observed even a little. In hunting animals, various species of deer, as well as small-sized mammals such as rabbits and foxes have been identified. Sheep, goats, pigs and cattle are largely consumed at the age of two or older when their long bones were fused. The results obtained from long bones are parallel to the results of the examinations on the wear of the teeth. This indicates that sheep/goats and cattle are used in secondary economic inputs such as milk and wool, except for their meat. Anahtar Kelimeler: Zooarkeology, Food Consumption, Archeology, Höyüktepe
