Abstract (EN)

In this study, Liberation Theology, which emerged in Latin America in the 1960s, was examined. The study consists of introduction, three chapters and conclusion. In the first part of the introduction, the concept of salvation is defined and the definition, scope and function of Liberation Theology are specified; In the second part, information was given about the subject, purpose, method, limitations and sources of the study. In the first chapter, the birth of Liberation Theology, theologians who put forward the theology, the practical aspect of theology and conferences that express importance for this theology are discussed. In the second chapter, the relationship between Liberation Theology and the Bible. In addition, the concepts of "Praxis", "Kingdom of God", "Eschatology", "Poverty", "Hope Theology" and "Political Theology" are examined in this section. In the third chapter, criticisms about Liberation Theology are emphasized. As a result, an evaluation was made in the light of the information obtained in the study.
