Hûd b. Muhakkem al-Huwârî and his method in his commentary

Muhakkem al-Huwârû and His Method in HisCommentary?, al-Huwârû?s life (210-280/825-893), his works and hiscommentary were examined from the different aspects.Here, The Holy Quran, tefsir (the Quranic commentary), hadith (Theprophet?s sayings) and biography sources were benefited.Our stady consists of an introduction and two chapters.In the introduction, the aim and the method of the thesis were analyzed.In the first chapter, the al-Huwârû?s life, his works, general features of hiscommentary and its sources were examined.In the second chapter, his commentary was examined from the view pointsof al-Tefsir bi?l-Rivâyah and al-Tefsir bi?l-Dirâyah.Finally, the results that got from this thesis were explained.Key Words: 1) al-Huwârû, 2) Tefsûru Kitâbillâh al-Azûz, 3) Tefsir,4) Rivâyah, 5) Dirâyah.VI
