Özet (EN)

This thesis focuses on the representation of humans and nonhuman relationships in contemporary Chinese and Turkish literature, focusing on Jia Pingwa's Remembering Wolves and Yaşar Kemal's The Sea-Crossed Fisherman. By challenging linguistic misinterpretations and cultural biases, this thesis explores the application of critical zoomorphism and anthropomorphism in purpose to blur the boundaries between human and nonhuman realms. This thesis discusses the layers of meaning behind the fixed definitions and constructed borders to challenge the idea of romanticizing remote places, like rural and island domains which cause to diminish our ecological awareness. It engages with Deleuze and Guattari's deterritorialization and becoming concepts to analyze the entanglement and fluidity of identities and localities within ecological contexts. Examining the interplay between human and nonhuman entities explores how these theoretical frameworks offer insights into the dynamic relationships between individuals and their environments. Through a comparative analysis, the thesis highlights the interconnectedness and interdependence between humans and nonhumans within their living habitats, emphasizing the universal significance of environmental protection.
