The thesis studies about an Iraqi poet who faltered in Baghdad in the modern era and he used to draw the artistic image in his poetry, then the poet had followed the example of those who preceded him from the poets who excelled in their attempt, influenced by other ancient tramps, such as the poet Urwa bin Al-Ward, he even made it the name of one of his books named: (Memoirs of Urwa Ibn Al-Ward). Because he was addicted to alcohol, most of his poems were about wine and he linked these poems to distant topics , such as politics and religion. He did not have a relationship with any woman mentioned, but he found in the wine what compensated him for the woman. In studying his poetry, the researcher dealt with the analytical method, and found himself imitating the old poem in the systems, but he introduced new themes in it, and his poetry became rich in the elements of the artistic image of ancient and contemporary poets. He excelled in the method of diagnosis and embodiment, and his poetry carried the characteristic of richness, with its metaphorical images, including metaphor, and as a result of his need and addiction to alcohol, he lost many of his poems either by selling them at a very cheap price or by stealing them from him until he lamented them for their abundance. He was a poetic talent and had tremendous poetic energy.
