The world of meaning of Hüsn ü Aşk and Sheikh Galib?s stylistic features in the context of Hüsn?ü Aşk

Sheikh Galib wrote his collection of works (Divan) at the age of 24, and his Mesnevi (collection of narrative rhyming couplets) titled Hüsn ü Aşk, which could be considered as the peak of divan poetry, in a timescale as short as six months at the age of 26.His Mesnevi titled Hüsn ü Aşk, which is based on narration, takes its theme from Islamic mysticism. Covering many social traditions, conventions and beliefs in poetic aesthetics, the work has a rich content reflecting the common world of the Divan Literature. The most important feature of Hüsn ü Aşk is that it is a poetic text decorated with sophisticated, stylish and shining dreams. Hüsn ü Aşk is a very special poetic climate which, in the words of Ayvazoğlu, takes the reader to the world of lights and colors.This study aims to establish the world of meaning of Hüsn ü Aşk and find out Sheikh Galib?s stylistic properties within the context of Hüsn ü Aşk.The study consists of three sections in addition to an Introduction. The first section covers pre-story poems of the Mesnevi, and also the story section as a fictitious text. The second section focuses on the concepts forming the cultural texture with the classical divan analysis method, with an effort to understand the place of such concepts within the context of poetic aesthetics. The third and last section handles Mesnevi from a linguistic and stylistic properties perspective. This section also gives the vocabulary used by İbni Kemal, Bâkî, Fuzulî and Galib, and compares this vocabulary with regards usage frequency, with an analysis of the common and diverse aspects of Galib with the said poets in the light of available data. So, an effort was made to discover Galib?s linguistic and stylistic properties, and his place and differences in the common style of the divan poetry.Described by Beşir Ayvazoğlu as the Last Song of the Swan, Hüsn ü Aşk Mesnevi is, in our opinion, is also a ceremony of the empire.
