Abstract (EN)

This study aims to address the problem of universals within the framework of classical philosophical approaches and Husserl's phenomenological thought. Its main objective is to present the historical background of the debate on universals and to clarify Husserl's position on this problem. In this context, the first chapter examines realism, conceptualism, and nominalism by discussing each view in both their classical and contemporary forms and by referring to philosophers who defend these approaches. The second chapter analyzes Husserl's approach to the problem of universals in connection with the emergence of phenomenology and his theory of meaning. Through an analysis of Husserl's critiques of earlier philosophers, it is shown that he accepts universals neither as metaphysical entities nor as psychological contents. The study also argues that Husserl's solution to the problem of universals offers an original approach that transcends traditional oppositions.
