Abstract (EN)
French writer, Marcel Proust who is respected as a representative of modern literature,explain the psychological changes of conceit in his works, actually only in A LaRecherche du Temps Perdu. He presents the person?s psychological life by reflecting thecurrent events and past events as a whole. Proust is effected from Bergson?s ?time?understanding so he perceives ?time? as a whole and use this way in his novels. In hisnovel A la Recherche du Temps Perdu, while he talks about bourgeoisie; at the same timehe tells the aristocracy?s decline and he does these by using episodes from his own life.Proust shows the panorama of France in 19th century by using flashbacks. Some parts ofthis novel are adapted to cinema by many directors and be very successful. This noveleffects Tanpâºnar who has a very important role in our literature the writing period ofHuzur.In Huzur, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpâºnar deals with the argument of the protagonist who hasproblems about some judgements during the time of the Second World War. Theprotagonist can not decide about his own happiness and his responsibility to community.But these two writer have common themes. By using these themes, especially HaroldPinter?s The Proust Screenplay; Tanpâºnar?s novel Huzur is started to be examined forcinema. With these themes, first, Bergson?s time comprehension is examined, thenexamined how Proust and Tanpâºnar use place, time and association. Moreover, the filmsand plays which is adapted from Proust?s novel, is examined.
