Özet (EN)

This study was conducted to determine the quality of life of elderly individuals residing in a nursing home. The study is descriptive in nature and its universe consisted of elderly individuals living in a nursing home in Ankara. The study sample consisted of 105 elderly individuals. The research was conducted between March 2024 and July 2025. The Data Collection Form and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale (WHOQOL-OLD) were used to obtain data in the study. Frequency analysis (number, percentage, mean), t-test, and ANOVA were used in the analysis of the collected data. In the study, the forms and scales used in the study were applied by the researcher to elderly individuals residing in the nursing home via face-to-face interviews. The mean score obtained by elderly individuals from the WHOQOL-OLD was 69.44±16.4. The study determined that there was a statistically significant relationship between the quality of life of elderly individuals according to variables such as marital status, family type, social security, and owning a personal home (p<0.05). The study found that elderly individuals living in nursing homes scored above average on the WHOQOL-OLD. It is recommended that education and counseling services be expanded, made sustainable, and necessary measures be taken to improve the quality of life of elderly individuals living in nursing homes.
