Abstract (EN)
Hypericum L. (Hypericaceae) species are used in the treatment of many ailments, especially for their antidepressant and wound healing properties. In the literature, there are many reports on the chemical content and biological activities of H. perfoliatum, which is officinal species, cultivated and one of the leading plants in the world trade of medicinal plants and herbal products. However, studies on other Hypericum species are still limited. Within the scope of this thesis study, extracts obtained from aerial parts of H. olympicum L. subsp. olympicum, collected from Balıkesir-Sındırgı, were investigated in terms of their total phenolic content, DPPH radical scavenging activity, cytotoxic activities on MCF7 (Human breast adenocarcinoma), A549 (Human lung carcinoma) and NIH3T3 (mouse embryo fibroblast) cell lines, in addition, chemical composition of extracts were examined by LC-MS/MS analysis.
