Effect of hypericum perforatum oily extract for the care and treatment of decubitus ulcer

This study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of St.John's wort oily extract in the healing of pressure ulcers (decubitus) in intensive care units of patients using traditional methods in folk medicine in the treatment of various health problems in our country Standardized St.John's wort oily extract was prepared by traditional method with olive oil was applied to the pressure ulcer region of three patients in intensive care unit three times a day. Patients were assessed by measuring wound sizes and stages, and by histopathologic evaluation at the beginning and end of treatment. As a result, it has been shown that St.John's wort oily extract is very effective in the treatment of pressure ulcers. Keywords:Intensive care unit,Oily extract,Pressure sore,Skin Wound healing
