Abstract (EN)

When Muhammad (pbuh) emerged with a new religion, his own tribe, the Quraysh, showed the greatest reaction to him. Despite teaching the new religion in Mecca for thirteen years, he could not achieve the success he wanted, and he migrated to Medina after the people of Medina converted to Islam. Hz. The polytheists in Mecca, who saw a danger to them that Muhammad went to Medina and established a separate city-state against Mecca, took a hostile attitude and declared war in order to eliminate this danger. They even formed alliances with other allies and enemies of Medina against Medina. Muhammad's life in Medina was spent on the one hand spreading the new religion and on the other hand defending himself against the pressures and increasing attacks of Mecca. When we look at Muhammad's wars, we see that they were mostly defensive. Even when he started the war, we see that it was defensive and passed with the least possible human casualties. These wars were handled in three categories in our thesis. First; Wars with the Jews: The Jews were the indigenous tribes of Medina. Since he was in cooperation with the polytheists in Mecca and was within the borders of Medina, he posed a great danger. He could leave the Muslims between two fires by supporting the attack of the Meccans from the inside. For this reason, a very careful and subtle strategy was followed against the Jews. Latter; The war with Byzantium: Byzantium was the superpower of the time, and the emergence of a new religion among the Arabs led the scattered Arabs to think that they could unite and become stronger around a single power. However, the wars with Byzantium were mostly fought with the Arab allies supported by Byzantium and took place at low intensity. Third; Wars with the polytheists: These wars, led by the Meccans, are the longest and most wearisome. Mecca and its allies. Other tribes were not keen on subordination to a central authority, as Muhammad saw it as a threat to their own beliefs. The Arabs traditionally lived in tribes and viewed submission to authority as a loss of their freedom. Under the leadership of Mecca, they began to resist this new power. The success of Muhammad will be achieved by the conquest of Mecca, that is, its subordination. Keywords: War, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Mecca, Medina.
