Hz.Umer's hadith understanding

This master's thesis titled as Hz. Umar's Understanding of Hadith consists of an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion parts. In the introduction, it is explained that, despite all the difficulties awaiting on our way, we have benefited from various sources such as historical books, tabaqats, glossaries, dictionaries, and encyclopedies in order to contribute to hadith studies by trying to relate Hz. Umar's understanding of hadith which is of great importance in terms of the history of hadith. The first chapter deals with the biography of Hz. Umar, who was born in Mecca, and spent his childhood and youth adulthood there. He was a person of importance; he gave up paganism and became a Muslim, then emigrated to Medina. After the death of the Prophet, he was chosen the second Caliph and he was in office when he passed away. In addition to Hz. Umar's biography, this chapter also gives information about his adherence to Qur'an, some verses of which were revealed to the Prophet in parallel to his foresights. In the second chapre, Hz. Umar's attitude towards ahadith, whether he acted or not in accord with them, the audits he conducted on the narration of ahadith, the criteria he determined to distinguish sahih ahadith from the da'if ones, and his own narrations of ahadith are widely explained with examples and his understanding of hadith is illustrated. In the conclusion section, the data obtained through the research we have conducted are listed and the conclusion we arrived at is given. Key words: Hz. Umer, Umer b.
