Hz. Omer's recitations (Qiraats)

The phenomenon of recitation has been in an indispens'Able position in almost all tafsir sources that have been compiled with the method of narration (riwayat) and perception (dirayat). Many people in these tafsir sources make recitations. Although the Qur'an has reached us in tawatur, different readings that are considered shaz from many companions have been found. One of the critical personalities to whom the recitation is conveyed is Omar. He was with the Prophet for a long time and was in such an important position to be chosen as his second caliph. In this study, it has been tried to determine the recitations that the tafsir sources have attributed to Ömer. As a result of the examinations, it has been determined that some of these recitations conveyed from him are accepted as authentic/mutawatir, while many other narrations are evaluated as shaz. Among these recitations, those that agree with the recitation of the Ten Qiraat Imams and those that are accepted as shaz are evaluated under separate headings, and the effects of the differences on the meaning are investigated by going down to the roots of the word that is in dispute. It has been determined that these recitations are generally of an exegetical nature. In our study, the opinions of scholars who made evaluations on the subject were also conveyed in a comparative way. Evaluations were made where necessary, readings were analyzed, and preferences were made. Although Omar was busy with politics, he also showed his own competence in science. The primary purpose of this study is to reveal how important Omar has in the science of Qiraat as well as in the sciences of Hadith, Fiqh, and Tafsir.
