Comparison of before and after Kahramanmaraş earthquakes by rapid visual scanning methods

Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of the study is to use rapid visual screening methods to economically and quickly determine the earthquake extent and post-earthquake damage levels of existing structures as a result of their proximity to fault lines. The results obtained by this association within the scope of damage determinations based on the data of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate after the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes were taken into consideration. FEMA P-154, one of the rapid visual screening methods, and Canadian Seismic and Risky Structures Detection Annex-2 (RYTEIE) methods were used in the configuration evaluations via the Google Street application. The research was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, after the 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake, damage detection methods are found on-site in damaged assemblies in the Pınarbaşı District of Dulkadiroğlu district of Kahramanmaraş province. In the second stage, the situations before and after the earthquake in selected districts and neighborhoods in Hatay province were realized through the Google Street application. Storage examinations of the buildings before and after the earthquake were made and the results were compared with their current conditions. It has been determined that the structures examined in Pınarbaşı, which has a large number of small amounts and hard ground, were cleaned at a high rate by detecting undamaged structures with the Canadian Seismic Method. It has been concluded that the ability to find structures examined in the Hatay region with FEMA P-154 and RYTEIE methods is more sensitive than the Canadian Seismic. It seems that the most effective parameter in the evaluation of the FEMA P-154 method is the building production process. RYTEIE method evaluation point of the Principles for Identification of Risky Buildings, earthquake danger zone, number of floors and building order are among the effective effects.
