Analysis of the memory of Turkish commanders and the report of British Army commander Sir Percy Lake and the Kûtü'l Amâre Wars in World War I

During the First World War, the Ottoman Empire had to fight on many fronts, both inside and outside its borders. The most important victory of the Ottoman Empire, which was defeated in the fronts in which it participated in general, after the success in the sea and land wars at the Çanakkale Front, was the surrender of the British army, which was under siege in Kûtü'l Amare on 29 April 1916 in the Iraqi Front. The information contained in the report, which was written by General Sir Percy Lake, who had commanded the British Army in the Kûtü'l Amare Wars, after the surrender of Kûtü'l Amâre, was translated into Ottoman by the Ottoman Empire after it was published in the Times Newspaper, and published in the same wars. The evaluation will be made by comparing them with the memoirs of the officers from the Turkish command level who have served on duty. As a result of comparing the report written by General Percy Lake and the information he gave with the information given in the memoirs of Turkish officers, the Battles of Kutü'l Amare, the developments that took place during the period, the losses of soldiers and other casualties in the battles will be better understood.
