Ibn Daqiq al-Eid and his theory in his comments on the explanations of hadith

Abstract (EN)

The hadiths that are the sources of the Islamic jurispudence are called "Ahkam Hadith", which means the hadiths determining the fıqh provisions. These hadiths constitute the foundations of the Islamıc Jurispudence and many of the jurispudences depend on these riwāyahs (transmissions). Because of their content importance, these hadiths are compiled in many different books and there have been many commentators of these books. And in this study we discuss one of these scholars: Ibn Daqiq al-Eid who has a formidable place in hadith commentator. This study that Ibn Daqiq al-Eid's Hadith commentaries method on the subject consists of an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction talked about the political, social and academic circumstances of the period he has lived in. The first chapter taking over the life of Ibn Daqiq al-Eid and his academic knowledge along with his relationship with his mentors, students and the studies he dealt with. The second chapter discussed his theory in the science of hadith and his approaches in some cases related to this science. The third chapter in his books: İhkam al-ahkam sharh Umdat al-ahkam and sharh al-Ilmam bi-ahadis al-ahkam and al-Imam fî marifa ahadis al-ahkam talked about his theory in detecting and authenticating hadith through his book. In this context, it has been cleared whether he had his own theory or he depended on other scholars or quoted their sayings only. The conclusion was assigned to reveal the research results and the recommendations it presented. Key Words: Ibn Daqiq al-Eid, Hadith, Ahkam, Commentary, Methods.
