Abstract (EN)

İbn nasır âl-din al-Dimashgî, the subject of our study, lived between the years (777/1375-842/1438); He was a scientist who produced works in the field of hadith, tabakat, history and especially sirah. He gained fame mostly with his studies on Hadith and was counted as one of the important figures in this field. However, the History of Islam, which we think is at least as competent as the science of Hadith, has not achieved the same reputation especially in the field of sirah which a part of this science. The reason for this must be that the fame he gained in the subject of Hadith overshadowed his history and historiography. For this reason, we wanted to reveal his identity as a historian by examining his sirah works in terms of subject and content. Throughout our study, İbn nasır âl-din, who is known to have written six works within the framework of the Prophet's life, which subjects he mostly touched on in his works, how he chose and blended the material he reached, whether he criticized the narrations he put forward, and how effective his hadithist identity was on his historiography, are the issues on which we will particularly focus on throughout our study. In the introduction part of our thesis, which consists of three parts, the aim and importance of the subject are mentioned. The first part of the thesis includes the period of the history he lived and life of the author. In this section, the fact that the scientific and political structure of the period had a partial effect on the works of İbn nasır âl-din was examined. In the second part, the six sirah works written by İbn nasır âl-din were examined in detail and the methodology he followed was tried to be determined. In the third chapter, the sirah works written by the author are discussed in terms of content, and based on these, the richness of his scientific background and infrastructure has been tried to be revealed. In addition, in the third part, the other works of the author were examined and a short evaluation was made around his works. Key words: İbn nasır âl-din, Historiography, Sirah, Poetry, Hadith
