Comparison of Ibn Rushd and Ibn Maze's views on talaq

This study consists of three parts. In the first chapter, It is given information of Ibn Maze's views on talaq in his book named al-Muhitu'l-Burhani. The author explained the matter of talaq mostly through hypothetical issues. Therefore, not given all the issues related to talaq in the work, it is given the number of issues that would contribute to the understanding of the matters. In addition, Ibn Maze included Persian issues on some issues in his work. It is included several Persian issues to indicate that the author also used Persian, in the study. In the second chapter, it is given information about Ibn Rushd's views on talaq in his book named Bidayetü'l-Müctehid and Nihayetü'l-Muktesıd. The author has discussed fiqh matters in his work by making comparisons between schools. Since the aim of this study is to compare the views of the Hanafi school and the Maliki school on the talaq through two authors, in this section, it is given the views attributed by Ibn Rushd to the Maliki school. In the third chapter, it is discussed comparatively the views of Ibn Maze and Ibn Rushd about the talaq in their works which are the sources of this study. Since Ibn Maze explained the matter more comprehensively, the comparison was made by focusing on the topics in his work. In the conclusion and evaluation section, the views of the two authors about the talaq are evaluated and the study is concluded the determinations related to the matters considered important.
