Abstract (EN)
Waqf, wich refers to stopping the voice for a period of time to take a breath in order to start reading again at a place where the meaning is complete, and ibtida, which means starting again from a place that suits the integrity of the meaning in order to continue recitation, are the most important elements of the Qur'an recitation. Waqf and ibtida; ıt is important to understand the intended meaning correctly, to extract religious evidence from the verses, and to point out the miraculous aspects of the holy Qur'an. Thanks to this science, changing the divine will and preventing the wisdom in the revelation of the Qur'an from being lost. This science, which helps both to reflect the meaning of the Qur'an and to recite its text, has also been studied independently by recitation scholars due to its importance. At the beginning of the study, the life of Ibn al-Jazari, an authoritative scholar in recitation, and the importance, purpose, binding nature and provisions of the science of waqf and ibtida were examined under different headings. In the last part of the study, Ibn al-Jazari's approach to this science is discussed in "al-Tamhid, an-Nashr, el-Muqaddime" were examined and discussed. In this context, the study aims to reveal the original aspects of the author's works in the literature.
