Investigation of gall inducing Cynipidae (Insecta:Hymenoptera) species on Quercus species in the Inland Western Anatolian region

Abstract (EN)

Cynipidae family galls on oak species were collected and carried to laboratory condition, in the Inland Western Anatolian including Afyon, Denizli, Kütahya and Uşak provinces between April-September in 2007-2009. The galls were checked on laboratory condition and obtained 985 adult wasp specimens belong to 34 species.In this study from study area from Cynipini tribus 65 species belong to 11 genus and from Synergini tribus 1 species belong to 1 genus was recorded. 10 of determined these species were the first time recorded from Turkey. This species are Andricus burgundus, Andricus quadrilineatus, Andricus crispator, Andricus superfetatitonis, Andricus vindobonensis, Aphelonyx persica, Chilaspis mayri, Cynips disticha, Neuroterus obtectus and Neuroterus saliens. Furthermore, 17 species belong to Andricus genus, 2 species belong to Callirhytis genus, 1 species belong to Chilaspis genus, 3 species belong to Cynips genus, 1 species belong to Dryocosmus genus, 5 species belong to Neuroterus genus and 1 species belong to Trigonaspis genus were the first time recorded from study area.Distributions of the each species were given in two different category as distributions in Turkey and world. According to the location of the galls on hosts and gall structure was made key to galls.
